- Deposit Type: Contact metasomatic garnet skarn hosting scheelite mineralization
- Mining Method: Room-and-pillar underground development in competent skarn rock
- Metallurgy: > 90 % tungsten recovery; 20–25% garnet recovery
- Infrastructure: Road access, nearby power, water rights, and existing mill site
- Development Path: Exclusive rights to explore and develop the Gentung Project corridor; targeting potential production readiness by the second half of 2026
Project History
The Gentung Tungsten Project is among the most advanced undeveloped tungsten assets in the U.S. and is positioned for near-term production as early as the second half of 2026. This is attributed to the fact that the previous owners have conducted significant work over the years to prepare the site for production. The project is located in a historic U.S. tungsten district that once supplied the U.S. national strategic stockpile and offers existing road access and infrastructure, supporting a relatively expeditious path to initial production.
Discover the Vision
The Gentung Tungsten Project resource of garnet skarn is believed to be one of the largest resources of this tungsten grade known in the United States. The deposit lies along a 2,500-foot southern contact trend that continues for another 6,000 feet to the south, within a historically productive United States tungsten district once supplying the national strategic stockpile.
Following Almonty’s acquisition, the company now holds exclusive rights to explore, develop, and mine the Gentung Project corridor — believed to be one of the most advanced undeveloped tungsten assets in the United States, positioned for potential near-term production. The mineralization occurs within a flat-lying garnet skarn, where tungsten recovery of 90% and garnet recovery of 25% have been demonstrated through historical and modern test work, providing a metallurgical foundation for development.
Mission to Success
The Gentung Tungsten Project is among the most advanced undeveloped tungsten assets in the United States and is positioned for near-term production as early as the second half of 2026. This reflects the extensive preparation work already completed by the prior ownership groups, including permitting, infrastructure readiness, and site development, which together support a relatively expeditious path toward initial production.
