In Loving Memory of Mr. Alfredo Pereira 🕊️
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Alfredo Pereira, born on the 6th March 1944 in Cebola (now known as São Jorge da Beira), Covilhã County.
He was the beloved son of Alfredo Gonçalves Pereira and Piedade Pereira. Alfredo found his lifelong partner in Emília Jesus Pereira Pires, and together they raised two wonderful children, Filomena Pereira and Luís Miguel Pereira.
Mr. Pereira dedicated a significant part of his life to Beralt Tin & Wolfram, where he worked tirelessly from 19 March 1962 to 02 July 2020, leaving an indelible mark on the historic Panasqueira Mines.
His extensive knowledge and experience were a source of inspiration to all those who shared the day-to-day work with him. His total dedication and passion for the mine played a decisive role in the outstanding results achieved by the teams he led at BERALT.
To his colleagues at Beralt, he was affectionately known as Mr. "Peixoto." Even in retirement, his connection to the mine remained strong, as evidenced by his iconic phrase:
"I often dream about the mine. I have the whole Mine in my head."
It spoke volumes about the profound impact the mine had on his life.
The Board of Directors at Beralt expresses profound gratitude on behalf of all employees for the historic contribution made by Mr. Alfredo Pereira as the General Foreman. His legacy will forever be remembered, and his absence deeply felt.
Thank you, PEIXOTO, for a lifetime dedicated to the mine and for being an integral part of the Beralt family. May you rest in peace. 🕊️ ... See MoreSee Less

Last month, the #Panasqueira Tin Tungsten Mine, owned by Almonty Industries through its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Beralt Tin and Wolfram (Portugal) SA, celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its Saint Barbara Chapel.
Beralt, which is the oldest mining company in Portugal, organized a programme full of activities for the whole Panasqueira community to celebrate this significant date.
Public figures such as the Bishop of Guarda, the Deputy Mayor of Covilha Municipality, the Presidents of the 2 Parish Councils and the President of the Social Solidarity Centre, along with many Panasqueira miners, workers and residents of the village attended the mass and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque.
Later a lunch and music performances were offered by Beralt. São Jorge da Beira’s Philharmonic band performed through the streets of Panasqueira and São Jorge da Beira’s Four stringed guitar group’s performance was the final touch to this magnificent celebration.
